PHOTOS FROM OUR FIRST MEETING OF 2017 @ VILLA PAUL RESTAURANT

We are happy to host Marine Science Teacher Greg Metzger of Southampton H.S. and Stony Brook University as our guest speaker.  Greg is a member of Long Island Shark Collaboration.  The presentation will be about the discovery of our local White shark nursery and the shark tagging program.

Bring the kids to this event!
Sharking and tagging is something everyone in the club has the ability to do.
It is our goal to get the kids out fishing this year.

The Shinnecock Marlin and Tuna Club of Long Island Hosting our Annual Offshore and Inshore Sport Fishing Tournaments in: Tuna, Marlin, Dolphin, Shark, Fluke, and Striped Bass

Over the years, the Shinnecock Marlin and Tuna Club and its members have seen the best and the worst of our favorite sport . We've had seasons of plenty and seasons of few. We have much to be proud of -- achieving world records for fish and fishing, fighting for the improvement of the Shinnecock Inlet, and preserving our local waters. We are also actively involved in supporting local charities, representing sports fishermen at hearings, and educating others through public seminars -- overall, a tradition of excellence.

It was motivated by the desire to fish in the USATT and as a way for private boat owners, charter boat captains and individuals who fished these vessels to belong to a fishing club. The objectives then, as they are now, were the promotion of sportsmanship, the art of competitive angling and the welfare of fishing in general. 50 years later, the motivations and objectives remain the same.
